Infertility Surgery

Surgical procedures in couples who are unable to have children may aim to eliminate the problem causing infertility and provide the opportunity for natural pregnancy, or to increase the chance of IVF treatment success.

Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopy is a method in which the inside of the abdomen is visualized by inserting a camera through a 1 cm incision just below the navel. It is a very helpful method for making various diagnoses. In necessary cases, 2-3 incisions of 0.5 cm each can be added, and various surgical procedures can be performed using these small incisions with the help of instruments. This method is also known as closed surgery.

  • In conditions such as endometriosis, dense adhesions in the abdomen can cause a disruption in the normal anatomy and prevent pregnancy: Adhesions can be opened.
  • If there are problems in the tubes such as damage, blockage, fluid accumulation, etc.: If there is a problem in the tubes where fertilization takes place, these tubes can be opened with surgery or the tubes can be removed to reduce the possibility of reducing the success of IVF treatment.
  • Myomectomy
  • Endometrioma (chocolate cyst) surgery

Hysteroscopic Surgery

Hysteroscopic surgery is a method that enables the visualization of the inside of the uterus through a camera inserted through the vagina and simultaneously provides the ability to remove the pathology that causes infertility.

  • Adhesions inside the uterus that can prevent embryo implantation can be removed.
  • Masses such as fibroids/polyps that can hinder pregnancy can be removed.
  • Uterine septum or abnormalities in the shape of the uterus can be corrected.
